The female reality in motorsport is becoming more and important and invites people to be part of projects that look to the future. This is what the CELO Racing Team has also thought, and this year in the Women’s European Championship it has decided to bet on Ran Yochay, an Israeli driver who is ready to fly her flag in the all-female championship. 

“We have always worked with the boys“, CELO Racing Team Manager Massimiliano Celoni tells us. “So we were keen to work and compare ourselves with girls on a European level“. Believing in new projects and diving into new adventures was a key factor that prompted the team to be part of the WEC, a reality that is becoming more and more popular. 

The championship is becoming more and more international and this is demonstrated by the presence of Ran, who is from Israel. It is uncommon to field the flag of a Middle Eastern state on the grid and his presence is certainly peculiar, enriching the WEC with a new culture far removed from the European one.

Precisely the big differences could generate difficulties in the work, but the CELO Racing Team has established such a good relationship that it has almost become a family, as Massimiliano says: “With Ran it is already the second year that we are working together, because in 2022 we were doing the YAMAHA R3 CUP. It was and still is interesting to see how we managed to have a very family-like relationship“. 

“The meeting point is always the same: to do the best result even from the situations we sometimes find ourselves in”, he continues. So it is very clear that the goal is to grow more and more, working both on the positive aspects but above all on those that still create differences. 

The work is not always easy, but CELO Racing can count on a very experienced driver, who knows the championship thanks to participation in past years. For 2023, both the team and Ran are ready to take another step forward: “The goal is to be able to do the best in every situation. With two races to go in the championship, we want to take that step to reach fifth position in the championship standings“. 

WEC meets…CELO Racing Team – “Volevamo correre in Europa con le ragazze”

La realtà femminile nel motorsport è sempre più importante e invoglia ad essere parte di progetti che guardano al futuro. Così ha pensato anche il CELO Racing Team, che quest’anno nella Women’s European Championship ha deciso di puntare su Ran Yochay, pilota israeliana pronta a portare in alto la sua bandiera nel panorama femminile. 

“Abbiamo sempre lavorato con i ragazzi”, ci racconta Massimiliano Celoni, team manager del CELO Racing Team. “Quindi avevamo voglia di lavorare e di confrontarci con ragazze a livello europeo”. Credere in nuovi progetti e tuffarsi in nuove avventure è stato un fattore chiave che ha spinto la squadra ad essere parte della WEC, una realtà che si sta facendo sempre più spazio. 

Il campionato è sempre più internazionale e lo dimostra la presenza di Ran, che viene da Israele. Non è comune schierare in griglia la bandiera di uno stato del Medioriente ed è sicuramente peculiare la sua presenza, che arricchisce la WEC di una nuova cultura molto lontana da quella europea. 

Proprio le grandi differenze potevano generare difficoltà nel lavoro, ma il CELO Racing Team ha instaurato un rapporto così buono da diventare quasi una famiglia, come racconta Massimiliano: “Con Ran è già il secondo anno che lavoriamo insieme perché nel 2022 facevamo la YAMAHA R3 CUP. È stato ed è ancora interessante vedere come siamo riusciti ad avere un rapporto molto familiare”. 

“Il punto d’incontro è sempre quello: fare il miglior risultato anche dalla situazioni in cui a volte ci troviamo”, prosegue. Dunque è molto chiaro che l’obiettivo sia quello di crescere sempre di più, lavorando sia sugli aspetti positivi ma soprattutto su quelli che creano ancora differenze. 

Il lavoro non è sempre semplice, ma il CELO Racing può contare su una pilota di grande esperienza, che conosce il campionato grazie a partecipazioni anche negli anni passati. Per il 2023 sia il team sia Ran sono pronti a fare un ulteriore passo in avanti: “L’obiettivo è quello di riuscire a fare il meglio in ogni situazione. Con due gare alla fine del campionato vogliamo fare quello step per raggiungere la quinta posizione in classifica”.
