Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) is the reigning champion, and she wants to reaffirm it: the Spaniard takes pole position at the Virus Power Imola Round, getting back in front of everyone in the last qualifying session of the season. The 511 Racing team rider set an excellent time in the morning’s Q1 that led her to command the afternoon’s combined time, thus securing pole position.
For Santos, that of Imola is the first pole in a long time, the last time she started from the first position of the grid was in Most and now she is back in command. Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’DeA), who pays three tenths from the Spaniard, is second. Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno), on the other hand, will start from third position, achieved despite some difficulties.
Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse) is opening the second row, she showed great form on Friday by reaffirming her condition on Saturday and taking the fourth position. The Gradara Corse team rider precedes Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’DeA), fifth ahead of Israeli Ran Yochay (Celo Racing), sixth.
Top 10 for Jessica Howden (Trasimeno), who will start from the seventh place, followed by Patrycja Sowa (Sowa Racing), eighth in the WEC and ninth in the combined with the CIV Femminile. Lena Kemmer (Bertlkr Racing) and Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing) close the top ten group. The two wild cards Abigail Bosson (Trasimeno) and Savannah Woodward (GP3 AD11) are 11th and 12th respectively. Maria Saluste closes the WEC group in 13th place (category, 21st overall).

“Qualifying went well, it’s true that the first went better than the second because the track conditions were different and the sun was a bit low. I didn’t like those conditions, but in the end we managed to take the pole. I’m very happy because I wasn’t in front since Most”.
Roberta Ponziani – 2nd position
“It was a positive day, but watching at yesterday I hoped we went better. Eve though, both Neila and I have been strong, so I’m happy. In the afternoon, the track was a bit slippery and I wasn’t able to improve. However, tomorrow we will fight for a great result”.
Natalia Rivera – 3rd position
“We are very happy with our third position, as we had some problems in findin a good setting during the weekend. We have worked well and are already focused on tomorrow’s race, where we know we can give a lot more”.
Tomorrow is race day! The WEC will conclude the season with the race that will start on Sunday at 10:40 a.m. and will be broadcast live on MS Motor TV’s Facebook page, on the MS Plus platform and deferred on SKY channel 229 (MsMotorTV) at 12:30 p.m.

Santos Conquista l’ultima pole della stagione WEC nel Virus Power Imola Round
Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) è la campionessa in carica e vuole ribadirlo: la spagnola conquista la pole position del Virus Power Imola Round, tornando davanti a tutte nell’ultima qualifica della stagione. La pilota del team 511 Racing firma un ottimo crono nella Q1 della mattina che la porta a comandare la combinata del pomeriggio, assicurandosi così la pole.
Per Santos, quella di Imola è la prima pole dopo tanto tempo, l’ultima partenza dalla prima posizione della griglia risaliva a Most e ora è tornata a comandare. Alle sue spalle troviamo Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’DeA), che paga tre decimi dalla spagnola ed è seconda. Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) scatterà invece dalla terza posizione, conquistata nonostante alcune difficoltà.
Ad aprire la seconda fila c’è Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse), che si è mostrata molto in forma venerdì ribadendo la sua condizione il sabato e andando a conquistare la terza posizione. La pilota del team Gradara Corse precede Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’DeA), quinta davanti all’israeliana Ran Yochay (Celo Racing), sesta.
Top 10 per Jessica Howden (Trasimeno) che scatterà dalla settima casella, seguita da Patrycja Sowa (Sowa Racing), ottava WEC e nona nella combinata con il CIV Femminile. Lena Kemmer (Bertlkr Racing) e Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing) chiudono il gruppo delle prime dieci. Le due wild card Abigail Bosson (Trasimeno) e Savannah Woodward (GP3 AD11) sono 11esima e 12esima rispettivamente. Maria Saluste chiude il gruppo WEC al 13° posto (di categoria, 21° totale).

“La qualifica è andata bene, è vero che la prima è andata meglio della seconda perché le condizioni della pista erano diverse e il sole era un po’ basso. Non mi piacevano quelle condizioni, ma alla fine siamo riusciti a fare la pole. Sono contentissima perché non ero davanti da Most”.
Roberta Ponziani – 2^ posizione
“È stata una giornata positiva, visti i risultati di ieri speravo meglio. Ma abbiamo girato forte sia io che Neila. Sono contenta. Nel pomeriggio si scivolava un po’ e non sono riuscita a migliorare. Domani però ce la giochiamo, sono contenta”.
Natalia Rivera – 3^ posizione
“È una terza posizione che ci piace molto, dato che abbiamo avuto dei problemi per trovare un buon setting durante il weekend. Abbiamo lavorato bene e siamo già concentrati sulla gara di domani, in cui sappiamo di poter dare molto di più”.
Domani è race day! La WEC concluderà la stagione con la gara che scatterà domenica alle ore 10:40 e verrà trasmessa in diretta sulla pagina Facebook di MS Motor TV, sulla piattaforma MS Plus e in differita sul canale 229 di SKY (MsMotorTV) alle ore 12:30.
