The action gets underway at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, where this weekend the Women’s European Championship starts the round two, a new double together with ESBK. A downpour between FP1 and FP2 initially worried the girls, but they came back to the track in the afternoon with sunshine and a dry track.
On the home track Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) leads, first in the morning and second in the afternoon. None were able to improve on their morning times, so Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’Dea), first in FP1, closes Friday’s free practice in second position. Natalia Rivera, who was third at the end of the day, also started her first home event in a positive manner.
In the combined results, Sara Cabrini occupies fourth position ahead of Aurelia Cruciani, fifth. The Hurly Valencia Round starts in a very good way for Astrid Madrigal (Italika Motap Racing Team), who races at the Ricardo Tormo as a wildcard. The Mexican completes the top 6 at the end of the day.
Beatriz Neila Santos – 1st position
“I am very happy after the free practice, the bike is beautiful and I like it a lot. we are working hard to be able to take pole position tomorrow. Everything went very well, I am very happy, and I want to thank everybody, especially my team for being here with me”.
Roberta Ponziani – 2nd position
“Today was a good day in the end, because it rained between the first and second session, but luckily the sun came out and the track dried out for FP2. So, we were able to go on track and it was good, in the first session I was second and in the afternoon session I was first, so it’s a very good start. Tomorrow we’ll see, it’s going to be a one-off qualifying that will start early in the morning, so the temperature will be cool. On Saturday the weather will be a bit uncertain too, so we’ll see how it will be, but at the moment we are pretty good”.
Natalia Rivera – 3rd position
“The first session was quite tricky, because we all went very fast, but I managed to be third. In the second session, the track was in complicated conditions because it had rained before the start. We did what we could, and I was third again, so that was very good. Both the team and I are happy”.
Tomorrow it’s race day, but first we will hit the track for qualifying. You can follow the action on the MsMotorTV Facebook page and on MS Plus. Race 2 will start on Sunday at 11am and will be broadcast live on both the RFME YouTube channel and MsMotorTV, Sky channel 229.

Neila Santos comanda la prima giornata dell’Hurly Valencia Round
Comincia l’azione al Circuito Ricardo Tormo di Valencia, dove questo fine settimana la Women’s European Championship è impegnata per il secondo round, una nuova doppietta in concomitanza con l’ESBK. Uno scroscio di pioggia tra le FP1 e le FP2 ha inizialmente preoccupato le ragazze, che però sono tornate in pista nel pomeriggio con il sole e pista asciutta.
Sulla pista di casa comanda Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team), prima la mattina e seconda il pomeriggio. Nessuna è riuscita a migliorare i tempi della mattina, così Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’Dea), prima nelle FP1, chiude il venerdì di libere in seconda posizione. Inizia in maniera positiva anche il primo appuntamento di casa per Natalia Rivera, che è terza al termine della giornata.
Nella combinata, Sara Cabrini occupa la quarta posizione davanti ad Aurelia Cruciani, quinta. L’Hurly Valencia Round inizia con il piede giusto per Astrid Madrigal (Italika Motap Racing Team), presente al Ricardo Tormo come wild card. La messicana completa la top 6 del venerdì di Valencia.
Beatriz Neila Santos – 1^ posizione
“Sono contentissima dopo le libere, la moto è bellissima e mi piace molto. stiamo lavorando sodo per poter fare la pole position domani. È andato tutto molto bene, sono molto contenta e voglio ringraziare tutti, soprattutto il mio team per essere qui con me”.
Roberta Ponziani – 2^ posizione
“Oggi è stata una giornata positiva alla fine, perché è piovuto tra il primo e il secondo turno, ma per fortuna è uscito il sole e la pista si è asciugata per le FP2. Quindi siamo riusciti a girare ed è andata bene, nella prima sessione ero seconda e nel turno pomeridiano ero prima, perciò un ottimo inizio. Domani vediamo, sarà una qualifica unica che scatterà la mattina presto, quindi farà fresco. Anche per sabato il meteo sarà un po’ incerto, quindi vedremo come sarà, ma al momento siamo abbastanza a posto”.
Natalia Rivera – 3^ posizione
“La prima sessione è stata abbastanza complicata, perché abbiamo girato tutte molto veloce, ma sono riuscita a essere terza. Nel secondo turno, la pista era in condizioni complicate perché era piovuto prima dell’inizio. Abbiamo fatto ciò che abbiamo potuto e sono di nuovo terza, quindi va molto bene. Siamo contenti sia io che il team”.
Domani è già giornata di gare, ma prima si scenderà in pista per le qualifiche. Si potrà seguire l’azione sulla pagina Facebook di MsMotorTV e su MS Plus.
