WEC flies to Spain for the Hurly Valencia Round

The Misano round is already under the belt, and it’s race time again for the Women’s European Championship. We fly to Spain for the first of three rounds outside Italy, Valencia will host the second weekend of the 2023 season, with a double-header together with ESBK.

The Hurly Valencia Round will take place from 12^th to 14^th May at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, where Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’Dea) arrives as a championship leader, since she won the first two races. The reigning champion Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) is second and she wants to be as fast as possible in her home race. 10 points separate the first two riders, and the Italian has 51 points, while the Spaniard has 41 points. 

It will also be an important round for Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse), third in the championship, and Natalia Rivera (Team Trasimeno), who is aiming for her first podium in her debut year. Santos and Rivera will be racing their home round, and also this weekend the grid counts a wide variety of nations. The girls are ready to tackle the 14 corners of the Ricardo Tormo, inaugurated in 1999 and theatre of great battles also in the world championship. 

Everything is ready to start, the action kicks off on Friday with the first free practice, while Saturday is the first day of racing, but first there will be qualifying, at 9 a.m. Race 1 will start at 1 p.m. The Hurly Valencia Round will end on Sunday with Race 2, which will start at 11 am.

14^th-16^th July | Round 7-8: Autodrom Brno (together with AAFIM Europe)

1^st-3^rd September | Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello (together with CIV)

6^th-8^th October | Autodromo Internazionale “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” di Imola (together with CIV)

La WEC vola in Spagna per l’Hurly Valencia Round 

Archiviato il round di Misano, è già tempo di nuove gare per il Women’s European Championship. Si vola in Spagna per il primo dei tre appuntamenti fuori dall’Italia, Valencia ospiterà il secondo weekend della stagione 2023, con una doppietta in concomitanza con l’ESBK. 

L’Hurly Valencia Round si svolgerà dal 12 al 14 maggio al Circuito Ricardo Tormo, dove Roberta Ponziani arriva da leader della classifica grazie alle prime due gare vinte a Misano. La campionessa in carica Beatriz Neila Santos si presenta da inseguitrice ed è determinata ad andare forte nelle sue gare di casa. Le due pilote sono separate da 10 punti, con la portacolori Roc’n’Dea a quota 51 e la spagnola con 41 punti. 

Sarà un round importante anche per Sara Cabrini, terza in campionato, e per Natalia Rivera, che punta al primo podio nel suo anno d’esordio. Santos e Rivera correranno il loro round di casa in una griglia che conta anche questo weekend una grande varietà di nazioni, e le ragazze sono pronte ad affrontare le 14 curve del Ricardo Tormo, inaugurato nel 1999 e teatro di grandi battaglie anche nel mondiale. 

È tutto pronto per iniziare, si partirà venerdì con le prime prove libere, mentre sabato è la prima giornata di gare, ma prima si svolgerà la qualifica, alle ore 9. Gara 1 scatta alle ore 13:00. L’Hurly Valencia Round si concluderà domenica con Gara 2, che partirà alle ore 11.
