Saturday begins with the battle between the two title contenders, with the Spaniard taking pole position ahead of the Roc’n’Dea team rider, that was championship leader until that moment. Great job for for Aurelia Cruciani, who takes the front row for the first time in the WEC and she is third. On second row Mia Rusthen (Trasimeno) is fourth ahead of the rookie and teammate Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno), in fifth position. Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse) is sixth.

The reigning champion becomes leader of the classification taking advantage of Roberta Ponziani’s crash. Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) takes her first WEC podium in her home race and she is second at the finish line. The rookie pulls off a fine comeback and finishes Race 1 ahead of Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’Dea), on the front row for the first time and third at the chequered flag.

There are a lot of different nationalities behind the podium positions, with Chilean Isis Carreño (GP3 AD11) in fourth. The Mexican Astrid Madrigal (Italika Motap Racing Team), who is participating in the Hurly Valencia Round as a wild card, is fifth and ahead of the Austrian Lena Kemmer (Bertlkr Racing).

Beatriz Neila Santos – Winner
“The race went well and I’m super happy! I am sorry for Ponziani’s crash and I hope she is OK. Tomorrow there will be another race and I am super happy to have my fans and my family here with me. I hope to repeat the same performance tomorrow. Thank you!”

Natalia Rivera – 2nd place
“It was a difficult race because it’s complicated to change tyres, as I’m doing several championships. But we managed to do our best, turn fast, and we were able to take second place. We deserve it! Thanks to everyone”.

Aurelia Cruciani – 3rd place
“The race was tough, probably because now it’s longer with 12 laps instead of 10. But I am very happy because I had a very good pace on my own. I improved my time by more than two seconds since last year. I am sorry for Roberta who fell, but I am very happy with this podium”.

Tomorrow it’s race day again! The Hurly Valencia Round will end with Race 2, which will start on Sunday at 11am and will be broadcast live on both the RFME YouTube channel and MsMotorTV, channel 229 on Sky.

Aurelia Cruciani – 3^ posizione
“La gara è stata dura, sarà che ora sono 12 giri e non 10. Ma sono molto contenta perché da sola ho avuto un passo davvero ottimo. Ho migliorato il tempo di più di due secondi dall’anno scorso. Mi dispiace per Roberta che è caduta, ma io sono contentissima di questo podio”.
