The Women’s European Championship races for the first time in its history in Most, where this morning the second qualifying session was underway. Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) grabs the first WEC pole position in the Czech Republic, and she confirms herself as the driver to beat also in this third round of the 2023 season.
The reigning champion is 324 thousandths ahead of Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’DeA). The Italian redeemed herself after yesterday’s disqualification and takes the second place on the grid, followed by Isis Carreño (GP3 AD11). The Chilean closes the Q2 session with an excellent performance that puts her on the front row.
Jessica Howden (Trasimeno) opens the second row in fourth position, and she gets her best result of the season. The South African is ahead of Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse), fifth with a second and a half gap to the polesitter. Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’DeA) will start from the sixth position on the grid, and she will try to bounce back.
Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) is seventh after Friday’s difficulties, while Israeli Ran Yochay (Celo Racing) is eighth ahead of Poland’s Patrycja Sowa (Sowa Racing), ninth. Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing) closes the top 10. Austrian Lena Kemmer (Bertkl Racing) is 11th and Norwegian Mia Rusthen (Trasimeno) is 12th. Beatrice Barbera (GP3 AD11) will start from the last position of the grid. Maria Saluste ended her weekend on Friday because of some technical problems.

“Q2 went well, the time was better than yesterday. Later there is the race and hopefully it will go well. Thanks to the team and to everyone”.
Roberta Ponziani – 2nd position
“Today went well luckily, yesterday the second position was taken away from me due to a disqualification for half a kilo of weight between bike and rider. Today we were more careful and we confirmed the second place. We will see for the race”.
Isis Carreño – 3rd position
“Qualifying was quite good, I rode alone for most of the time. I adapted quite well to this track, and I feel I can still improve. So, we are waiting for the race to give our best and aim for the podium”.
Q2 is over and now let’s think about the races! Race 1 will start at 14:15. The Libe Most Round will end on Sunday with Race 2, which will start at 9:45.

Santos conquista la prima pole WEC al Libe Most Round
La Women’s European Championship corre per la prima volta nella sua storia a Most, dove questa mattina è andata in scena la seconda sessione di qualifiche. La prima pole position WEC in Repubblica Ceca porta la firma di Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team), che si conferma la pilota da battere anche in questo terzo appuntamento.
La campionessa in carica precede di 324 millesimi Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’DeA). L’italiana si riscatta dopo la squalifica di ieri e si prende la seconda posizione in griglia di partenza, seguita da Isis Carreño (GP3 AD11). La cilena chiude la Q2 con un’ottima prestazione che le consente di essere in prima fila.
La seconda fila è aperta da Jessica Howden (Trasimeno), che ottiene il suo miglior risultato stagionale con la quarta posizione. La sudafricana è davanti a Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse), quinta con un secondo e mezzo di distacco dalla polesitter. Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’DeA) scatterà dalla sesta casella della griglia e proverà la rimonta,
Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) è settima dopo le difficoltà del venerdì, mentre l’israeliana Ran Yochay (Celo Racing) è ottava davanti alla polacca Patrycja Sowa (Sowa Racing). Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing) chiude la top 10. L’austriaca Lena Kemmer (Bertkl Racing) è undicesima e la norvegese Mia Rusthen (Trasimeno) è dodicesima. In fondo al gruppo Beatrice Barbera (GP3 AD11).

“La Q2 è andata bene, il tempo è stato migliore rispetto a ieri. Più tardi c’è la gara e speriamo che vada bene. Grazie al team e a tutti”.
Roberta Ponziani – 2^ posizione
“Oggi è andata bene per fortuna, ieri il secondo mi è stato tolto per una squalifica per mezzo chilo di peso tra moto e pilota. Oggi siamo stati più attenti, abbiamo confermato il secondo posto e vediamo per la gara”.
Isis Carreño – 3^ posizione
“La qualifica è stata abbastanza buona, per la maggior parte del tempo ho girato sola. È una pista su cui mi sono adattata piuttosto bene e sento di poter migliorare ancora. Quindi aspettiamo la gara per dare il massimo e puntare al podio”.
La qualifica è conclusa e ora ci attendono le gare. Gara 1 scatta alle ore 14:15. Il Libe Most Round si concluderà domenica con Gara 2, che partirà alle ore 9:45.
