Sara Sanchez (511 Racing Team) takes parts in her first race of the 2023 season of the Women’s European Championship this weekend. On her debut at the Brno track, she takes pole position in the S97 RACING Brno Round. The Spanish rider sets the fastest time despite a crash and will start in first position in Race 1.
It’s an all-Spanish front row on the Czech track: Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) is second at just 22 thousandths, and the fight in the race promises to be fierce. Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) closes out the front row. The reigning champion struggled more in the Brno qualifying session and she is third.
Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’DeA) is fourth and she is the first to be over a second behind Sanchez. The Roc’n’DeA rider will start ahead of Jessica Howden (Trasimeno) in fifth. Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse) is sixth and she closes the second row.
The third row is very international, with Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’DeA) seventh. Behind her there are Austrian Lena Kemmer (Bertlkr Racing), eighth, and Israeli Ran Yochay (Celo Racing), ninth. Norwegian Mia Rusthen (Trasimeno) closes the top 10. Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing) and Maria Saluste (Motoclub Sinilind) are 11th and 12th respectively.
Today is already race day! Race 1 will start this afternoon at 16:55, while the S97 RACING Brno Round weekend will end with Race 2 on Sunday at 11:15.
Sara Sanchez – pole position
“This morning with the cooler track, Q1 went well, but we knew could do better. So, I tried to improve in Q2, but I crashed after the first lap. Anyway, we took the pole position, but Natalia is very strong, so we will have fun in the race”.
Natalia Rivera – 2nd position
“We are very happy with the position we have achieved and with the work we have done on this new track. In the race we will give everything, and we will try to stay ahead as much as we can. Thank you everyone, see you later”.
Beatriz Neila Santos – 3rd position
“Qualifying didn’t go well. For the first time, I didn’t feel good either with the bike nor the track, anything. I’m sure the race will be better, you can’t win every time…a weekend like this is ok, it happens! I want to thank the whole team for their work and my family”.

Prima pole position per Sanchez all’S97 RACING Brno Round
Sara Sanchez (511 Racing Team) disputa questo fine settimana la sua prima gara stagionale nella Women’s European Championhip e, al debutto sul tracciato di Brno, conquista la pole position dell’S97 RACING Brno Round. La pilota spagnola firma il miglior tempo nonostante una caduta e scatterà davanti a tutte in Gara 1.
Prima fila tutta spagnola sul tracciato ceco: Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) è seconda a soli 22 millesimi, la lotta in gara si preannuncia accesa. A chiudere la prima fila c’è Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team). La campionessa in carica è più in difficoltà nella qualifica di Brno ed è terza.
Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’DeA) è quarta ed è la prima ad andare oltre il secondo di ritardo da Sanchez. La pilota del team Roc’n’DeA precede Jessica Howden (Trasimeno), quinta. Chiude la seconda fila Sara Cabrini (Gradara Corse), sesta.
Terza fila molto internazionale, con Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’DeA) settima. Alle sue spalle troviamo l’austriaca Lena Kemmer (Bertlkr Racing), ottava, e l’isrealiana Ran Yochay (Celo Racing), nona. Chiude la top 10 la norvegese Mia Rusthen (Trasimeno). Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing) e Maria Saluste (Motoclub Sinilind) sono undicesima e dodicesima rispettivamente.
Oggi è già race day! Gara 1 scatterà oggi pomeriggio alle ore 16:55, mentre il weekend dell’S97 RACING Brno Round si concluderà con Gara 2, domenica alle ore 11:15.

“Stamattina con la pista più fresca, la Q1 era andata bene, ma si poteva fare meglio. Così ci ho provato nella Q2, ma sono caduta dopo il primo giro. Comunque abbiamo conquistato la pole position, ma Natalia va molto forte, quindi in gara ci divertiremo”.
Natalia Rivera – 2^ posizione
“Siamo molto contenti della posizione ottenuta e del lavoro svolto su questa pista nuova. In gara daremo tutto e proveremo a stare il più avanti possibile. Ringrazio tutti, ci vediamo dopo!”.
Beatriz Neila Santos – 3^ posizione
“La qualifica è andata male. Per la prima volta non mi sono trovata bene né con la moto né con la pista, con niente. Sicuramente la gara andrà meglio, non si può vincere tutte le volte…un weekend così ci sta! Voglio ringraziare tutto il team per il lavoro e la mia famiglia”.
