Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) has no rivals at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo: the reigning champion wins Race 2 of the Hurly Valencia Round. The second weekend of the 2023 season of the Women’s European Championship ends in the name of the Spaniard, who on her home circuit increases her advantage in the standings taking advantage of the crash of Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’Dea).
Starting from pole position, the Spaniard set the pace immediately, gaining an advantage from the first lap, and she can manage it until the chequered flag. Behind her, Ponziani crashes and gives way to a group of four riders fighting for the podium. While Santos is dominating, Isis Carreño (GP3 AD11), Sara Cabrini (Gradare Corse), Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’Dea) and Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) are lighting up the race with great battles.
The Chilean of the GP3 AD11 team gets the better of it, coming in second at the finish line ahead of the Italian of Gradara Corse, third by just one thousandth. After a great battle, Cruciani is fourth and ahead of Rivera. She is second during the latter stages of Race 2, but then she is fifth at the chequered flag. The Mexican wild card Astrid Madrigal has an excellent weekend, and she is sixth in Race 2.
The Norvegian Mia Rusthen (Trasimeno) is seventh ahead of Israeli Ran Yochay (Celo Racing Team). Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing), ninth, and Austrian Lena Kemmer (Bertlkr Racing), tenth, close the top 10. Beatrice Barbera (GP3 AD11) is the last rider to cross the finish line. Difficult Sunday also for Jessica Howden (Trasimeno), who retires.

Isis Carreño – 2nd position
“Today’s race was very demanding, I fought in a group of four riders from the start to the finish line. But I think we needed to use our heads a little bit on the last lap to get the podium, and so I did. Thanks to everyone”.
Sara Cabrini – 3rd position
“It was a very hard race, we were a group of four riders and I knew I was the slowest. But my strategy was to stay in front and overtake immediately when I was passed. I did it and it went well. I want to thank everyone”.
The weekend of the Hurly Valencia Round ends with the chequered flag of Race 2. The Women’s European Championship takes a break for a few weeks. We recharge our batteries and then we fly to the Czech Republic, where the round in Most will take place in the weekend from 23rd to 25th June.

Doppietta per Santos che domina Gara 2 dell’Hurly Valencia Round
Beatriz Neila Santos (511 Racing Team) non ha rivali al Circuito Ricardo Tormo: la campionessa in carica vince Gara 2 dell’Hurly Valencia Round. Il secondo fine settimana della stagione 2023 della Women’s European Championship si conclude nel segno della spagnola, che sul circuito di casa incrementa il vantaggio in classifica approfittando della caduta di Roberta Ponziani (Roc’n’Dea).
Partita dalla pole position, la campionessa in carica impone subito il ritmo guadagnando già dal primo giro un vantaggio che riesce a gestire fino alla bandiera a scacchi. Alle sue spalle, Ponziani scivola e lascia il passo a un gruppo di quattro pilote che lottano per il podio. Mentre Santos domina, Isis Carreño (GP3 AD11), Sara Cabrini (Gradare Corse), Aurelia Cruciani (Roc’n’Dea) e Natalia Rivera (Trasimeno) accendono la gara con grandi battaglie.
Ad avere la meglio è la cilena del team GP3 AD11, che sulla linea del traguardo è seconda davanti all’italiana di Gradara Corse, terza per un solo millesimo. Dopo una grande battaglia, Cruciani è quarta e precede Rivera, seconda a metà gara, ma poi quinta alla bandiera a scacchi. Ottimo il weekend della wild card messicana Astrid Madrigal, sesta in Gara 2.
La norvegese Mia Rusthen (Trasimeno) è settima davanti all’israeliana Ran Yochay (Celo Racing Team). Chiudono la top 10 Martina Guarino (MotoXRacing), nona, e l’austriaca Lena Kemmer (Bertlkr Racing), decima. Beatrice Barbera (GP3 AD11) è l’ultima a passare la linea del traguardo. Domenica difficile anche per Jessica Howden (Trasimeno), ritirata.

“La gara di oggi è stata molto impegnativa, avendo combattuto in quattro dall’inizio alla fine. Però penso servisse usare un po’ la testa all’ultimo giro per conquistare il podio. Grazie a tutti”.
Sara Cabrini – 3^ posizione
“È stata una gara molto dura, eravamo un gruppo di quattro e io sapevo di essere la più lenta. Ma la mia tattica è stata quella di rimanere davanti e sorpassare subito quando venivo passata. Ce l’ho fatta ed è andata bene. Ringrazio tutti”.
Con Gara 2 si conclude il weekend dell’Hurly Valencia Round. La Women’s European Championship si ferma per qualche settimana. Si ricaricano le batterie e si vola in Repubblica Ceca, dove si terrà il round di Most nel fine settimana dal 23 al 25 giugno.
